FIVE UNEXPECTED CITY STOPS ON THE ULTIMATE EUROPEAN ROAD TRIP

Family adventures need flexibility and fun things for all, as Frank & Selli – aka Pinepins – know all too well.

“We are on the road a lot,” say Frank and Selli, who’ve gained over 280k followers for their love of travel with two small children. “With the kids, we are carrying a bit more weight these days. It’s why our lightweight Brompton G Lines have been perfect for camping trips.”

The German duo are happiest when hitting the road in their campervan, which they say is by far the most sustainable way to embark on a far-flung family adventure. “And what could be more sustainable than taking a bike on holiday?” asks Selli. “Traveling in a campervan leaves a relatively tiny footprint anyway, but with the bikes we now have the chance to settle down somewhere and take off to go shopping, exploring… everything! These bikes have made a huge difference to our lives.”

It’s not just the Brompton G Line’s overall adventurous spirit that has helped make it a new staple in Frank and Selli’s family trips. Even the tiny details are perfectly geared up for their out-there lives. “They’re a great fit between function and style. There are so many features in these small bikes, which makes it feel like you haven’t compromised the functionality of a normal bike. Plus, there’s that extraordinary look we love. The bikes are just beautiful. The colourways, too!”

The style, and eye-catching colours, come in handy when hitting the town too, something else that Frank and Selli have become experts at. Here, they share their top trips away from the big tourist traps: the small cities perfect for little family adventures…

PINEPINS’ FIVE UNEXPECTED URBAN STOPS ON THE ULTIMATE EUROPEAN ROAD TRIP

Freiburg

“A small city in the south of Germany, where the weather is pretty much great all the time. Take your Brompton to the Dreisam river for a little swim, and for sunset go up the Schlossberg, which is a little mountain where you will have the view over the city and the perfect evening.”

Stuttgart

“Another city in the south of Germany this time surrounded by small mountains, and built for the electric G-Line. Simply climb up a hill to get a perfect view over the whole city - an ideal adventure.”

Tübingen

“Don’t spend all your time in the historical city centre and its nice buildings - take a boat trip on the Neckar river, propelled only by a driver with a long stick. Ask nicely, and you might even be allowed to take your bikes with you.”

Colmar

“Colmar is also known as Little Venice thanks to its many little rivers, bridges, and beautiful houses. A Brompton would be the best way to navigate all of these beautiful features, and taste the many super delicious French crepes.”

Monschau

“The stunning houses of Monschau are a bit of an Instagram favourite. It's close to Belgium, with many tiny streets and a nice river going through the whole area.”
