As of the end of 2023 a manufacturing change means that bikes with an Advance rear frame are now fitted with 2 washers on the non-driveside rear wheel axle. Previous versions with either 1 or no washers are also functional as long as there is no play in the rear wheel. If you are in doubt contact your local dealer or Brompton Customer Service.

The Brompton Advance chain tensioner attaches to the rear frame and keeps your chain tight and in position whilst allowing the bike to fold. After many miles this part can wear and could need replacing.

The V2 Chain catcher is fitted as standard to all bikes made after July 2023 and is available aftermarket if you want to fit a 56t chainring to your bike. Applicable for A, C, P and T Line Brompton folding bicycles. Centering your brakes is essential for many jobs on your Brompton. You must ensure the distance between each side is equal from the rim and that the brake pads meet the rim at the same time.

ADVISORY NOTE - These are some of the harder jobs to perform on a Brompton and so we would advise if you are unsure if to carry it out, to get it done by your local friendly Brompton dealer
Please note there are several components on the T Line which use a factory fitted chemical patch, or similar thread lock, to ensure the components security during use. It is important that either a factory supplied component with fresh thread lock is fitted, or sufficient Loctite is applied, when adjusting or replacing these components.
